Mossdale Crossing was the first bridge across California's second largest river, The San Joaquin River. The bridge crossing was built as a veritical lift bridge to give way to ships traveling into the Central Valley. The brdge was complete in September 1869 and was the last piece of history of the first transcontinental railroad. Mossdale Crossing is also close to part of the Lincoln Highway. Mossdale Crossing is a California Historical Site with a marker located at N37 47.242 W121 18.305.
We have always planned to hide a cache and never got around to it. We also felt the first cache to hide should be special. This is that cache.
My brother-in-law John, my sister's beloved husband, passed away recently and we thought it would be nice to do something special to remember him. See, John was also a fellow cacher, Johnhofstadt. John being a Navy Vet loved his boat and the water. So for our first cache we thought it would be fun to place a cache by the water.
Beware of muggles loading boatsinto the water. It can be busy at times. For the most part it is a quiet place.
