Geocache Description:

Road spilts,  Road to the East is Rocky, has high grass in the middle of the ruts (warning for hot dry summer) and at least one small hill climb that may or may not require 4x4 for your rig. West road is just rocky. Both roads connect in the wash and turn around spots are limited but you can find one. Beautiful views in the canyon. TOPO on GPS helps

This cache is within 25 ft of the actual ground zero epicenter the USGS has decided on. I have yet to hear of a fault name this quake happened on but the famous Kane Springs Fault runs along the Kane Springs Road. This is some kind of off shoot to that i'd assume. The quake sequence has spreaded from the Southwest and moving NorthEast.  Doing some research this is not the only quake to hit this active area. Within a few miles of this quake there was a M4.6 in August 1992, 4.5 in 2004, a 4.4 in 2006 and a 4.2 in 2008. THis recent 4.8 in 2015 is the biggest and of course felt throughout the area. So not as rare of a event as people think or like to say it is. Below are the maps of the felt it report and epicenter/aftershock sequence over first few days.

The Day after the quake I spent the whole day out here. Even met a family from Overton/Vegas that came out just to see the area and see if they to could be here during one of the aftershocks.
