The parish churches of Trimley St Mary and Trimley St Martin stand side by side in the same grave yard. There may have once been a wall between them but that is long gone now. There is some speculation that the twin churches were built by feuding sisters but there is no evidence to confirm that.
The chapel in St Martin dates from 1405 but the church was substantially rebuilt around 1690.
St Martin is still used for regular worship but St Mary is now mainly used for community purposes.
