Geocache Description:

This is a revisit of a cache, which was in the Faded Markers Series. It is a nice cemetary and thought it needed to be "reborn". This series will mainly focus on older, near forgotten burial plots of pioneers in the Niagara Region and beyond. The goal of this series is not necessarily the length of the walk nor the difficulty of the find, but rather a simple reverence for those who came before us to shape our area.

This cemetery is found on the south side of the road close by to Four Mile Creek. Two headstones and several footstones remain, although several more were recorded by a previous visit in 1912. Buried here are: James Clement (1764-1813) and his wife Catharine (1768-1813) who died giving birth to their eleventh child. Their daughter-in-law Sarah (1790-1824) who was the first wife of Joseph Clement, whom was buried in the cemetery nearby in St. Davids Martha Pettitt (1769-1828), the wife of James’s brother John Caroline Clement (1801-?) Elizabeth Matilda Ball (1812-1823) daughter of Catharine Clement (possibly the daughter of James and Catharine) and Jacob Ball. Have fun and happy caching!
