Geocache Description:

By Gum, so that's what the bottom of an oak tree is like! The tree is still growing though.

From the glorious view on the open fell, continue along the path as it re-enters the beautiful deciduous woodland. These oak woods are a feature of South Lakeland and especially the areas around Windermere and Coniston.  The trees do live on very thin soils and being fairly high up, it's not uncommon for them to get blown over.  Several examples along this part of the path.

The cache is just a short way off the path, at a blown over specimen.  Screw top tub.  Please be gentle while searching and rehide well.

Follow the path down and onwards to Mossy Lumps.
