Muskrat Cove is a hidden sliver of woodland along the Bronx River which is named for a population of muskrats inhabiting the forested streambanks in the area. This little known, picturesque oasis has well tended pathways and careful plantings thanks to local residents.. Just outside of the Metro-North Woodlawn parking area, a paved path heads into the cove. The park is accessible through an opening in the guardrail.
Parking: Street parking on Webster Avenue and in the surrounding area is limited. There is Pay parking at the Woodlawn Metro-North station but is Free on weekends and holidays and I have included a waypoint for this parking lot.
NOTE: At the time of this writing I could not find any information regarding park hours for this location, when I do I will update this page. With that said, please use caution when Geocaching and I advise not to Geocache at night without first knowing the rules and regulations of any area you are attempting to enter.
