Geocache Description:

This cache is a plastic container green/brown in color medium size jar with a log and some swag with no pencil.

Drift Creek Canyon is Phase II of Another in a Series of Caches
in a loop through the Tillamook Burns.

This trail of caches will provide you with a higher level of difficulty and terrain than phase one yet still keeps some favorite baradam caches locations, plus exhibits his love of rural caching the country roads and seeing the forest vista. What could one say,  could there be any more or any less drive the cacher's curiosity? If anything will draw a cacher out, then this series should be it. Most of the first phase of caches are on pretty level grade with lower ratings and difficulties but the 2nd phase encounters some grade variations to up the ratings. Maybe even a few of you might wish to pass on some of them. Make sure to wear the appropriate clothes, or have them anyway like treaded shoes and change of pants or even a rope.

Again, here will be many of those typical historical stump caches, the only thing is what exact location has a edge on the other but then you might find the root of his evilness. Or should it be said, the grandeur of the country road, a mix of trees and hiding amongst the stumps, rocks, the trees and ferns but this time you'll run into many more slopes to get that terrain level up. For the older cacher it would be wise to bring a squirrel with you or even a rope to help on the way back down. None will be a great climb but it might take a little puffing then a rope might give you a good gripe for a safe return to the flat.

Hope you too enjoy the challenge of another baradam cache, not just a box on the ground but great scenery and lots of fun.

Please try to keep the environmental impact down but I know this is a tough one.

For the most part all caches are located where there are wide spots in the road. Drift Creek Road is relatively smooth and can be navigated with most car with a medium clearance although some rocks from the banks can roll into the roadway from time to time, normal this even happens on many highways but you might need to toss one out of the road. Drift Creek Road does have some deep holes you must drive around but if you keep it under 15 mph you'll have plenty of time to react. I drove the Geo-mobile and managed to evade all but one area which produced a minimum of a bump, less than those speed bump we go over.

Especially during the week log truck can be present and use the CB radio on Channel 3 at this posting. They will use mile markers as they proceed up and down the hill so be aware. Drift Creek still provided maybe a half a dozen vehicles. On Storey Burns Road at the time of placement there were over 20 vehicles, 2 bicycles, one forest ranger, one county Sheriff and a gun club of five vehicles, not exactly a traffic free road. A good ear will hear most traffic before it gets to you in most cases though I would not make it a habit to play a "deer in the headlights" or should I say stand in the middle of the road and play chicken with a 4x4. Most people will not choose the bank here, so bug juice you may become. Again, one to two vehicle an hour usually driving relatively slow.

Drift Creek provides some higher terrain ratings and lots of different difficulties. Although most hide even in the "Phase II Drift Creek Series" are placed in the classic baradam stump, stump root, log or near large rocks. This phase has more satellite through the trees disruption, and mountain banks will keep your GPS'r on the move. These caches are not on the Kansas plains and will take geosenses. These caches were placed headed west into the canyon but the road is more narrow so the pull outs are important.

This should be a fun run but they are not on the flat. Neo planted 1/2 and I planted the others so it will be a another good one to check out her planting skills. Oh, doc gave me some feel better tablets and be prepared.

End of the story, after all this and not being able to get around much I could not even sit a the computer to publish the caches.
