I have created this new geocache in honor of geocache "5102G" (GC5THXB) which had a very short life but was located in an area where there were just too many muggles to allow it to exist very long without being muggled again.
This new location is very interesting as I have been a frequent user of this park for over 30 years and up to this past week I thought this location was actually someone's backyard when in fact it is very much a unique and hidden away little public space in the western end of Confederation Park. In fact, myself and probably most of this park's users/visitors never probably pay any attention to this unique feature as they pass by on the paths below as it is adjacent to a private residence's back yard and appears to be just an extension of that yard.
It is, as a result, a very tranquil and fairly secluded location overlooking one of Calgary's well used and loved parks and I named it "Ode to 5102G" because one can observe 5102G's former location (small wooden pedestrian bridge) about 100 meters to the SE of this location.
This new cache will be a small container and does have room for small trackables. You will have to bring your own pen or pencil as this cache is too small to contain any type of writing instrument.
There is plenty of parking available on the adjacent streets but pay attention to the parking signs as there is some 2 hour on-street zoned parking in the area. The area below this location will be populated with muggles but probably none of them will be aware of you when you are seeking this geocache. This geocache location is wheelchair friendly but the cache itself may not be accessible by someone in a wheelchair.
Please leave this geocache in the exact spot you found it so as to make the search just as much fun for the next person - movement of this cache to any other location in this vicinity will make the reveal much too easy for the next seeker.
