Qui era nascosta una delle primissime cache di Colico, Movie Collection - Full Metal Cache, posizionata da TheBart con la firma Sgt. TheBart & Lt. Globulo il 16 aprile 2008 e archiviata il 15 luglio 2013 dopo essere stata trovata 27 volte.
Ho iniziato a giocare al geocaching nel 2014, e solo dopo aver nascosto questa cache mi accorsi, grazie a Project-GC, di quella precedente di TheBart. Ho sempre pensato di rendergli omaggio per cui ho deciso di rinominare la mia "Forte Montecchio Nord" in "Full Metal Cache. A celebration" per ricordare uno dei geocacher che ha contribuito di più allo sviluppo del gioco in Italia e che è rimasto nel cuore di tutti quelli che l'hanno conosciuto.
Forte Montecchio Nord - La fortezza della Prima Guerra Mondiale meglio conservata in Europa
Fu costruito tra il 1912 e il 1914, come parte delle opere difensive della cosiddetta Frontiera Nord, con lo scopo di protteggersi da un eventuale attacco attraverso la Svizzera da parte della Germania e dell'Austria-Ungheria. Fortunatamente non ci fu nessun attacco e i cannoni non spararono un solo colpo. Il forte rimase comunque attivo sotto il fascismo, passò poi alle truppe tedesche e infine nel 1945 fu liberato dai partigiani.
Eccezionalmente ben conservato anche il geocacher frettoloso non può esimersi da una visita!

Fort Montecchio Nord - The best preserved large First World War fortified construction in Europe
It was built between 1912 and 1914, as part of the defensive works of the so-called “Northern Frontier”, for defensive purposes from possible attacks through Switzerland by Germany and Austria-Hungary. Fortunately there were no attacks and the cannons didn't fired a single shot. The Fort was still active under fascism, then passed to the German troops, and finally in 1945 it was released by the Partisans.
Exceptionally well preserved, even the hasty geocachers can not slip off from a visit!
