Welcome to the Cowlitz Wildlife Area!
Just past this sign and down the road aways you will come to Riffe Lake formed by Mossyrock Dam when it was finished in 1968 flooding the towns of Riffe and Kosmos. Some parts of Kosmos are visible depending on the water level of the lake. Old timers like myself can take you there and point out who lived where, what stores were in which locations, where the mill was etc. Gone but not forgotten!
