Geocache Description:

This cache apears to be out in the water but it is actualy on the new Port Geographe Groyne (town side).

The cache when located is a 50ml keens mustard tin well hiden and well camoed.

It is located near picnic area with tables and toilets. Lovely spot.

Port Geographe is a large, partially completed canal and marina development east of Busselton. It has been progressively developed by private interests since the 1990s although the developer is not currently active.

In November 2012 the State government announced $28.15 million in funding to change the coastal structures at Port Geographe to bring about major benefits for the environment, local residents and the wider community.

The structural changes, which include modifications to the breakwaters, altered foreshore alignment and marina entrance, integration of a lagoon and removal of groynes from the pocket beaches, will assist the natural by-passing of sand and seagrass wrack to address environmental and health issues, improve amenity and reduce ongoing annual coastal maintenance costs.
