The story of the Fox sisters began in 1848 when the two younger sisters Kate (12) and Margaret (15) began to hear "rapping" sounds coming from their bedroom. They told their mother that they were communicating with a spirit. The girls would snap their fingers a number of times and the spirit would answer back with a series of knocks. Soon they worked out a way to ask the spirit yes or no questions. Through these communications the spirit revealed himself as Charles B. Rosna. A peddler that was murdered in the house five years earlier and buried in the cellar. The neighbors dug up the cellar and a few bones were found. Eventually in 1904 a skeleton was discovered buried behind a false wall in the cellar.
With the word of their ability spreading, the sisters were sent to live with family in Rochester. Kate to the home of her older married sister Leah and Margaret to live with her brother David. The rappings continued in their new homes. In Rochester they meet prominent Quakers who became the core of the new spiritualist movement. Kate, Margaret and Leah became well known mediums and began performing seances for hundreds of people. They toured in many cities and performed for thousands more.
They suffered through a lot of criticism and were under constant scrutiny. They also received a lot of praise and soon people began to hold seances in their own homes. Spiritualism was beginning to spread. With the increased popularity of spiritualism however, many women holding seances were not true mediums and fraud and trickery were common. This doesn't mean to say that all mediums were fraud. Some may very well have been able to speak to dead spirits.
The cache is a large wooden box, locked to keep out the muggles. To discover this cache you'll have to try and communicate with the spirits yourself, open the lock and sign the logbook.
