This event will be a take on a Flash Fishing Mob, with geocachers lining the Riverfront Walking Bridge in Salem Oregon, fishing for geocaches. We will have two meeting areas, one on each end of the bridge. My hope is for 100 geocachers, including their families to line the bridge, fishing poles in hand, decked out in your finest fishing attire. Let's see those fishing vests, the fun fishing hats, you name it!! Below is the event schedule as well as the rules:
9:45 am - Meet at one of the two designated spots (#1 - event coordinates, #2 - add'l waypoint or West End of Bridge): Sign log, get prize, raffle tickets, have fishing pole inspected.
10:00 am - We will head out onto the bridge, poles over our shoulders, to our posts, where we will "cast" our lines for a geocache. We will fish for 10 mins. Feel free to hum fishing tunes, tell Whopper stories about the last geocache you caught.
10:15 am - We will meet back in Riverfront Park for the Group photo, appropriate Fish related snacks and geocaching meet and greet. A raffle will be conducted.
Now the rules:
Per Oregon Fish and Wildlife, NO ONE has to have a fishing license IF you DO NOT HAVE a hook on your line. Therefore all lines will be checked by someone. If you want to keep your hook, please have your license ready to show. You will need a line to hook on one of my fabulous prizes for the flash mob attendees.
Also, I am unhappy to announce that there is not going to be a Flash Mob souvenir this year. Your only reward is FUN and another event added to your collection!!!!
