Geocache Description:

A cache in beautiful Wood Valley

Wood Valley, near the sugar cane town of Pahala, is home to a Tibetan Buddhist temple.  Here, the Dalai Lama taught in 1994, drawing large crowds of people.  The cache is along the road that leads to the temple.  After you find the cache, drive another mile or two up the road and visit the temple, or even stay overnight in the dormitory.  It's inexpensive and a great experience; there are services at the temple given by the monk who lives there, and as you would expect at a Tibetan temple, you will see prayer flags and shrines.  And no doubt you will see a few of the peacocks which roam free in the area.
