U okviru naše serije cacheva o zagrebačkoj arhitekturi i arhitektima, odlučili smo predstaviti i neke od ostvarenja iz osamdesetih.
Osamdesete su zanimljive zbog više razloga: u osamdesetima gotovo nestaje postmoderna i rađa se dekonstruktivizam, a zbog primjene novih materijala i tehnologija, čitav arhitektonski izričaj dobiva novi zamah…
Poslovna zgrada carine i Intereurope na Zagrebačkom velesajmu, autora Điva Dražića i Edvina Šmita, svakako treba biti spomenuta u tom pregledu (iako je faktički realizirana 1990 - 1991), kao objekt kod kojeg se jasno vide dekonstruktivističke ideje, ali kod kojeg poetičnost i želja za humanizacijom prostora nije u potpunosti nestala.
Interesantno je napomenuti i da je isti arhitektonski dvojac u periodu od 1986 do1987 projektirao i južni ulaz na Zagrebački velesajam, koji se nalazi u neposrednoj blizini ovog objekta.
