Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the Port Hudson Lake Conservation area.  This area has a lot of things to offer.  There is a fishing lake, a handicap accessible dock, pavilion with BBQ grill, and trails.  It's a nice area for a family to have a picnic, to go bird watching or go geocaching.

I've only been geocaching for a few months.  When I started, there were some terms I didn't understand.  For instance, the first time I heard of the term bison, I figured the person had taken a childs toy that looks like a bison/buffalo.  Then when I found my first bison tube, I thought to myself, "How did they come up with that name?"

You are looking for a bison tube in a tree.  It is only big enough for a log.  So bring your own pen or pencil.  A short distance of bushwhacking will be necessary. The hike to the cache is a fairly easy walk. It's along a service road that the MDC keeps cut most of the year. You may see some wildlife while in this area and TICKS!!

Parking is located at the lakes parking lot.

Permission granted by the MDC with special use permit:  SUP-PHL-SM1

Congratulations to sweetsuzzie's son for the FTF!
