Geocache Description:

Ham Wall National Nature Reserve is owned and managed by The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), and this geocache has been placed with their permission.

The reserve is an important wetland site and one of the largest reed beds in southern England. Restored from old peat workings the site contains a rich mosaic of reed beds, wet scrub, open water, grassland and woodland. A wealth of wildlife is supported including marsh harrier, water vole, otter, a wide variety of butterflies and dragonflies and the secretive bittern whose unique ‘boom’ can often be heard across the reed beds.

In spring the site is alive with birdsong and in autumn kingfishers can be seen dashing up and down the ditches and waterways.

There is a small parking area close to this entrance to the reserve suitable for three or four vehicles only.

You are looking for a bison container containing a log book only so bring your own writing implement. Please replace the cache carefully and as well hidden as possible. Thanks!
