Geocache Description:

Recently, the location of Gnome Mountain became know when the Wirral Gnome Society published the Gnome Mountain Earthcache (GC5WARJ). I’d heard much about this from Baldmoney, Sneezewort, Bumble & co, so I mentioned this on my log for the earthcache. In particular :

Gnome Mountain is a sacred location for the Wirral Gnomes. Apparently, any gnome born within the Hundreds of Wirral must make a pilgrimage to this special location before their 21st Birthday. Failure to do so results in their banishment from the Wirral Hundreds, and rumours have it that these may be the origins of the Cheshire Gnomes.

Secondly, legend has it that the Gnomadic scrolls of enlightenment are buried close by. If the Elder Gnome of Wirral stands in the summit at 12:00 GMT (Gnome Mean Time) on the Summer Solstice, and holds the staff of knowledge high above his head, the tip of its shadow is where the scroll is buried.

On reading this, the Elder Gnome of Wirral contacted me and suggested that I, as President of the Wirral Gnomes, should have a gathering at Gnome Mountain on the Summer Solstice, and it should be timed for 12:00 Noon. This is that gathering, and I now ask the Elder Gnome of Wirral to attend with his staff of knowledge so that the scrolls of enlightenment might finally be unearthed.
