The old timers in Mackinaw City tell the story about a gas station that was located across the street from this cache. In order to service the cars lined up to board the ferryboat to St. Ignace, this station had a gas pump with a 100 foot gas hose. Attendants could go down the line of cars and fill the gas tanks quite easily! Talk about service with a smile! This cache is placed on private property with permission from the owner.
