The story of Tinker Bell starts long before Never Land. In fact, before she was friends with Peter Pan and captured by Captain Hook, she hoarded her shiny things in Marshall County, Indiana.
As fairies do, Tinker Bell was flying along, enjoying the sunny, summer weather. She noticed a small, family cemetery off the highway and decided to float down and pay her respects. Around Salem, the headstones are beautiful. Tinker Bell saw some dating all the way back to 1838.
Tinker Bell heard tiny giggles, so tiny, in fact, only other fairies could have heard them well. She saw two yellow fairies playing hide and seek close by and decided to see if she could join their game. They were more than happy to have her join and the group laughed and played for hours. While they played, Tinker Bell saw the perfect spot to leave off more of her shiny stash.
As it started getting late, the fairies knew you can't be in cemeteries after dark and decided to part ways. Tinker Bell continued her journey, but legend has it, in Salem, you can still hear the tiny giggles of fairies playing...
