Geocache Description:

The sixth instalment of the Crawlspace series takes you to another spot along the bay, where you have to get down and dirty. The Elwood canal is a unique seam of open space running through the urban fabric of Elwood.

The John Cribbes footbridge spans the mouth of the Elwood Canal, where it meets Port Phillip Bay. Today, the Elwood Canal is a man-made watercourse connecting the lower reaches of the Elster Creek with Port Phillip Bay. It drains forty square kilometres of southeast Melbourne, including Prahran, Glen Eira and Kingston. Before the canal was built this region was originally a natural watercourse that ended in an ill-defined swamp near the beach. The cache should be a quick find but please beware of cyclists and walking muggles they can appear at any time. Version 2 of the container is slightly smaller, but has room for small swaps. Enjoy.
