The Johnstown-Altoona Geocaching Association (JAGA), in cooperation with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and Canoe Creek State Park will be presenting a Geocaching 101 presentation from 10:30am until 11:30 am in the basement of the Canoe Creek Education Center. Event coordinators will post signage the day of the event to show you to the correct room.
This event will include a short presentation of Geocaching Basics, along with the opportunity for new cachers and muggles to try out geocaching with provided ‘loaner GPSrs’ following the event.
SCHEDULE
10:30am – 11:30am: Geocaching 101 Presentation
This short presentation will begin at 10:30am and end at 11:30am. It will be held at the Canoe Creek Education Center. The specific room will be identified via signage at the event.
The material covered in this presentation will be for the benefit of those who are interested in learning what geocaching is and how to take part in this growing hobby and for geocachers who are new to the sport. However, everyone is welcome to attend and veteran cachers will be encouraged to share their experiences geocaching with the group.
The presentation with conclude with an invitation to join a group in searching for a few local caches.
Don't forget to bring along a muggle.
