Pour accéder au site à pied, vous pouvez vous garer sur la place de l'église, au coeur du village. Et si vous venez de Vesoul, sur votre gauche, peu après l'entrée de Calmoutier, un chemin mènera à la chapelle, un peu raide, et accessible seulement au VL (pas camping-car). Pas de stylo dans la boite.
To access the site on foot, you can park on the church square, in the heart of the village. And if you come from Vesoul, on your left, soon after the entry of Calmoutier, a path leads to the chapel, a little sloping, and accessible only to the cars (no tourer). No pen in the box.
L'histoire du village a été profondément marqué par la religion. En 1636, le village a été pillé pendant la guerre de Dix ans et détruit en grande partie. Il comporte deux clochers, à côté de l'église du village, il existe sur une butte un 2e clocher d'une chapelle néogothique érigée à la suite d'une épidémie de choléra au xixe siècle. L'histoire de Calmoutier a été aussi marquée par le Diable à travers un procès en sorcellerie qui s'y déroula au xviie siècle et concerna Claudine Richardey qui fut condamnée à être étranglée puis brûlée près du gibet de Montaigu.
The history of the village was profoundly influenced by religion. In 1636, the village was looted during the war of ten years and largely destroyed. It has two bell towers, next to the village church, on a hill there is a second bell tower of a Gothic chapel erected after a cholera epidemic in the nineteenth century. The history of Calmoutier was also marked by the devil through a witch trial that took place there in the seventeenth century and concerna Richardey Claudine who was sentenced to be strangled and burned near the gallows of Montaigu.
