Finding Nemo

Nemo and his father, Marlin lived in the sea. Well they would wouldn't they because they were clownfish! Now clownfish weren't exactly the biggest fish on the block. The other fish were so BIG next to them! Marlin was so scared of the big fish he was very protective of Nemo. In fact Nemo was always tucked safely inside their little underwater home. But today was Nemo's first day of school! Woo hoo! That's one excited Nemo! Mr Ray, the science teacher, took Nemo's class on a field trip (talk about jumping in the deep end on your first day!). And that's where the trouble with Nemo began!

You see Nemo was just a young fish and got in with the wrong crowd. His friends lured him away and they swam to very deep water. When Marlin found out he hightailed it down to the deep water and gave Nemo a good telling off! Nemo was so angry that his father had humiliated him in front of his friends! He took off swimming as fast as he could all the way to the surface until he touched a boat. Too bad it was a fishing boat because soon Nemo was scooped up in the fishnet and hauled aboard. "Daddy!", cried Nemo. "Nemo!" cried Marlin. Nemo was taken away in the boat. Marlin tried to save his son, but the boat took off and soon disappeared. Nemo was gone. But Marlin would not give up. All he could think about was finding Nemo.

Looking for help Marlin swam into all kinds of fish. He was soon bruised and battered as they shoved him around. One friendly fish named Dory swam over to see if the little clownfish was okay. She wasn't the brightest of fish but seemed happy to help. Soon he had told her the whole story about Nemo. Together Dory and Marlin went looking for Nemo. Firstly they came across a big shark. Marlin was terrified but Dory thought it was lovely of the friendly shark to invite them to a party! Fortunately the party was a fish-eaters anonymous party for sharks who were trying to give up eating fish. They managed to resist the tempting treat and Dory and Marlin lived to swim another day in search of Nemo. Marlin and Dory spotted a scuba mask in the distance (that had belonged to the people that kidnapped Nemo). They swam way down in the darkest depths to have a closer look and then they saw a light. The light was part of a big swordfish who very kindly helped them read the address attached to the scuba mask. Not wanting to tempt fate a second time they quickly swam off before the swordfish could eat them.

Marlin and Dory read the address and figured it must be the best place to look for Nemo. Dory was so excited she kept repeating the address over and over so she wouldn't forget: 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney. Marlin and Dory bumped into some turtles who told them the address was a long way away. They gave them a lift. Along the way Marlin told one of the friendly turtles about Nemo. Soon the story about Nemo had spread far and wide across the ocean!

Now they had all the help they needed. Assisted by schools of friendly fish and even a huge whale they made it to Sydney harbour. From there they were picked up by a pelican . The pelican soon landed on the balcony of the second floor 42 Wallaby Way. It looked like a dentist's office. Inside they could see Nemo trapped inside a fish tank. The pelican quickly flew inside through the open window, scooped him up and returned the three weary travelers to the sea. What an adventure! Nemo was so proud of his brave father and promised never to wander away again!
