Welcome to Sheffield Park one of JaxParks newest parks! Here you'll find beautiful lakes, a huge sports complex, and beautiful hiking trails.
Cache is NOT located at the posted coordinates; However, they will guide you to the entrance of the park in order to begin your journey.
This is a 'choose your own adventure' style letterbox. Any path that you set out onto is guaranteed to help you find some fun in the sun! All paths lead to the same place, but the length of your journey will depend on where you choose to start, which will be in front of any 1 of 3 trail marker posts. As you proceed along your course, you will need to remain observant for each trail marker post you encounter along the way. Please ensure to stay on the designated trails right up until you reach the final step in the path that you have chosen...
Skirt the Badlands:
Start at N 30° 28.137 W 081° 33.708 on the Lake Loop Trail. From where you stand face North toward the trail marker and then follow the arrow in the indicated direction. As you approach the next trail marker you will need to continue moving along in the direction the arrow is pointing. When you reach a fork in the trail you will see a third trail marker about 100' ahead. Turn sharply and follow the fork leading away from the marker. At the next trail marker you run into you will need to make a sharp turn in compliance with the arrow's guidance. At last the end is near! When facing South toward the final trail marker you come across, proceed in the direction indicated by the arrow. You will move ahead 150' from the last marker before turning to your right and heading into the woods for 25'.
Into the Woods:
Set out from N 30° 28.242 W 081° 33.740 on the Lake Loop Trail. Face South toward the trail marker and begin your adventure, following the arrow in the indicated direction until you are forced into a turn. Face East toward the trail marker you come across at the fork in the road and follow the arrow in the indicated direction. You will eventually come upon one more trail marker, which will be the last one that you encounter before reaching the cache location. Continue past that trail marker in the same direction you have been heading. Once you have gone beyond the boardwalk the prize will be nearly within your reach. Keep going beyond the curve in the trail for an additional 50'. From there turn to your left, heading off the trail and into the woods for the last 25'.
Follow the Lake:
Begin at N 30° 28.561 W 081° 33.747 on the Lake Loop Trail. Face North toward the trail marker and follow the arrow in the indicated direction. When you encounter a fork in the road, simply continue to follow the natural progression of the MAIN trail. Continue to follow the direction indicated by the arrows at the next 3 posts you come across. Face SouthWest toward the next trail marker you encounter (bearing a brown sign) and follow the direction indicated. Look East toward the next trail marker you see and follow the direction indicated. Continue past the final trail marker in the same direction you are heading. Just past the boardwalk follow beyond the curve in the trail for an additional 50'. From there turn to your left and head another 25' into the woods.
Congratulations! You have completed your adventure! Once you have finished trading SWAG and considering the merits of your choice in adventures, make sure to rehide the container to keep it out of sight of muggles. Also, please be advised that this cache contains a stamp and ink pad, which are essential parts of the letterbox hybrid. These items are NOT SWAG so please do not remove them from the container!
