Good morning agent! This will be your fourth and last traing case. You will have to learn more about a certain organization and its operatives that the FBI has encountered in the past. Good luck!

The Syndicate

In 1952 a secret group was formed within the State Department. Their activities included experimenting with xenotransplantation, relocating ex-Nazi scientists to the United States after World War II and covering up the "black oil" discovered in the Piper Maru in 1953. This secret group later became the “The Syndicate” in 1973. The group involved several members of the Central Intelligence Agency and the Department of State. They conceived of and managed the Project, which was an immense effort in creating an alien/human hybrid to serve the aliens as a slave race after colonization. They were also known as The Elders, The Consortium, and The Group. Because of their presiding over the cover-up of extraterrestrial life, they were the main force opposing the X-Files investigators, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Fox Mulder and Dana Scully have encountered several members of the Syndicate and its operatives.

The Cigarette Smoking Man

The Cigarette Smoking Man (CSM) also known as 'Cancer Man' by Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, was a mysterious operative who worked with the Syndicate to hide certain truths from the American public. He had top-level access to both the FBI and the Pentagon. His real initials and surname may have been C.G.B. Spender. In the 1960s he worked with Mulders father and there have been some indications that CSM is Fox Mulders biological father.

Alex Krycek

Alex Krycek was an operative for the Syndicate and for a short time a Special Agent within the FBI. Little is known about Krycek's early life or education, other than his parents were Cold War immigrants and that he is consequently in Russia. In 1994, Alex Krycek, secretly working for the Cigarette Smoking Man, was assigned to work with Special Agent Fox Mulder. After the investigation, Krycek returned to the Cigarette Smoking Man and reported his findings regarding Mulder and his former partner, Agent Scully, both of whom represented a problem to Krycek and the Cigarette Smoking Man. After sabotaging for Mulder, Krycek was eventually forced to flee the Bureau and work directly for his superior. He was killed by Walter Skinner in 2001.
