This location offers superb views across Avebury and Windmill Hill, and makes a lovely location for walking along the Downs. From the area of the car park (parking 2) sometimes you can see horses being exercised around the gallops from the nearby racing stables and in snowy weather this natural bowl is one of our favourite sledging locations (easily accessible just off the A4 which gets snow ploughed early).
It's been while since I placed a physical cache - about 7 years - so I thought it would be fun to place one of those new-fangled Letterbox caches (OK, they may have been around a while)! This one contains my specially ordered geocaching stamp, please don't use the logbook for stamping and don't remove the stamp itself.
There is free car park for a dozen cars at the parking 2 waypoint. There is a footpath for the first part of the walk to the cache and then a more wild area which will be harder going (long trousers recommended in Summer against stingers, brambles and ticks).
