Geocache Description:

Another anomaly that is a part of Calgary's history and I am quite surprised that these concrete structures still remain here. Historical aerial photographs dating from 1951 (see below) would indicate that these structures may have been part of a farming operation or some sort of smaller industrial complex (circled in red in picture below) .

This cache is a camouflaged Tic-Tac container and will be able to accommodate only the smallest trackables and/or tradeables - please take care when removing the geocache container's lid so as to preserve the camouflage, a gentle squeeze where the lid snaps on to the main body should make everything come apart quite easily. There are some Canadian coins that I have placed in this geocache that date back to when these structures would have probably been in use - the FTF person(s) can keep them as a FTF prize if they wish. You will have to bring your own pen or pencil as this cache is too small to contain any type of writing instrument.

There is plenty of parking available just off of the adjacent alleys and the general vicinity should always be relatively muggle free. Please leave this geocache in the spot you found it with all associated camouflage (if there) in place so as to make the search just as much fun for the next person.

If you use some stealth while retrieving this geocache, any nearby muggles will not give it a second thought just because there is a lot of smaller pieces of rubble that all probably date back 40-50 years and this geocache, if placed back the way it is found, will appear to be another piece of rubble to the untrained or unseeing eye.

Please make a note in your log if you are aware of what these concrete structures may have been used for as I have been unable to find anything out about them.
