Geocache Description:

Mirco cache placed on side of beach cafe. Thank you to martyn (owener of cafe) for giving me permission to place this cache.

The terrible winter storms of 2014 took an iconic victim off Torquay’s map of attractions when huge waves crashed into Oddicombe Beach in early February. The force of the sea lifted huge concrete blocks from the promenade and slammed them into the beautiful beach cafe, leaving an unbelievable amount of damage and destruction. The cafe was damaged beyond believe, it took a few years before work began to restore the much loved cafe. With the famous babbacombe downs and the Victorian cliff railway very close this cafe was at the center of both a much loved tourist area but also a favorite beach for the locals. on the 29th of may 2015 the beach cafe finally reopened its doors. with a beautifully revamped indoor cafe and bar, ice cream kiosk and out side seating area. we would like to thank martyn for allowing us to place this cache on his beautiful cafe. the cache is located on the wall of the cafe, this is a mirco cache and is hiden well, you WILL need to bring a pen and may need tweezers to get the log book out. happy caching.
