Cache 2 - Bunker
Build for the Second World War, underneath Woodhouse Moor a system of bunkers excists.
Split into two sections, one for men, one for women with a tunnel to link them. Once inside, the doors were sealed. The bunkers were fitted with water stations, toilets, warden posts and emergency exits.
The bunkers proved paramount during the most series air raid on March 14, 1941 just before midnight when the city museum and town hall were severely damaged and 4600 houses were damaged.
Leeds was the target of no fewer than 9 air raids, 6 of which were serious.
