Hrvatska mreža autocesta i poluautocesta s naplatom iznosi ukupno 1.288,5 km. Mrežom gospodare 4 društva. Autocesta A1, neslužbeno od pojedinih novinara zvana Dalmatina, Croatica, a u vrijeme početka gradnje 70-ih godina prošlog stoljeća i Autocesta kralja Tomislava, najdulja je hrvatska autocesta i povezuje glavni grad Zagreb s Karlovcem, Gospićem, Zadrom, Šibenikom, Splitom, a od 2013. i Pločama.

Nastavak gradnje autoceste prema Dubrovniku, kao i mosta Pelješac je planiran i dijelom je već u gradnji. Na ovoj cesti plaća se cestarina.
