I am a HUGE fan of The Lord of the Rings. Love the books - love the films!
Any excuse - but as I approached this location on a bright, clear, sunny day; I had a sense of being somewhere special. It was so peaceful and tranquil; just the gentle rolling of the water.
I thought of the Last Bridge to Rivendell!
Maybe - on a less clement day, or under different circumstances, it might not summon such visions. But at that moment, it did!
The cache is, in many ways a spin-off from the Three Choirs series; although this isn't included, I simply could not resist this place; which I happened on by chance - I just wondered where the footpath went.
