George A. Thomson, LLB, OSA (1868-1965)
First born child of Margaret and John Thomson. George grew up in Claremont, and later, in Leith, Ontario. At age 21 he set out to find his fortune, moving to Seattle. He was married to Margaret Euphemia who died six months after their son was born. At age 38, he studied in New York at Art Students League. He was an avid and organized painter and his first work was accepted at the National Academy of Design in New York. He remarried at age 48 to Jean Telford in 1916.
In 1917, he joined the search for his brother Tom, after Tom’s canoe had shown up without him.
