Geocache Description:

This is a series of caches placed along the old road from Cashel to Malinmore. The route takes you high above the main road and gives some stunning views over Glenhead and to Rathlin O'Birne island and beyond.

There is ample parking on the Cashel end and some roadside parking close by the Malinmore end. The route can also be accessed from the Folk Village museum but you will need to back track to complete the series. It is not possible to drive the entire route although you can get part of the way easily. You might want to consider teaming up so you can leave a car at either end to avoid having to return along the way.  Please keep dogs on a lead at all times as there are sheep on the mountain and make sure to close any gates along the route.

Malinmore School is now a private house by the side of the lane as you start/finish this trail. The old school walls which we used to race along are still there but I respectfully decline to race on them again. Like every child I was not in love with having to go to school but I have more happy memories of the time I spent here than unhappy ones. The closure of the school in 1967 was the end of an era of carefree days. The school nameplate can still be seen on the gateway.

Cache is a tab-lock box with room for some trinkets and swaps.
