Geocache Description:

Plainwell was proud to bring the Smithsonian Exhibit, “The Way We Worked,” to town during the summer of 2015. As part of this exhibit ten new caches were placed in and around Plainwell to highlight this great community and the occupations of its inhabitants. Pick up clues from each of the 10 traditional caches and put them together. When you turn your final answer in at City Hall you can take home your very own Island City commemorative token!

To claim your commemorative token while supplies last, turn you answers in at Plainwell City Hall during normal business hours. 211 Main St, Plainwell (Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm).

I had the privilege this year to be a host site in Kalamazoo for a program for students with special needs ages 18-26 years old.  Students get placed in businesses and organizations where they can get on-the-job experience in a volunteer capacity with the goal of growing and succeeding in life.  At the end-of-the-year celebration, these students just glowed with the knowledge that they had been successful at their jobs and were able to move ahead in their goals for the future.   Some students had even applied and secured jobs because of the training they received and the self-confidence they gained by volunteering. Just a lesson for us all to remember...if someone looks or acts different, be patient with them and take a moment to celebrate their successes.  You have no idea how far they have come.

You are looking for a matchstick container.

As always, it's up to you whether or not to pursue finding and signing the log on a particular geocache -- please know that you choose to find each of these geocaches, and do so at your own risk. !
