Entrance to the Haunted Woods Trail
L.M. Montgomery used these woods as a child, to travel from her grandparent’s home to her cousins’ house at Green Gables. Her love of nature and wild imagination brought these woods alive, calling it the Haunted Woods in her novel "Anne of Green Gables" because of the shadows and the noises that made it spooky. Anne also walked through these woods to meet her bosom friend Diana. Before meeting up, they communicated with each other from their own rooms in a very unique way.

Sentier de la forêt hantée
C’est le sentier que Montgomery empruntait pour aller de la maison de ses grands-parents jusqu'à la maison de ses cousins quand elle était jeune. Son amour pour la nature et son imagation sans limite ont donné vie à cette forêt, l'appelant la forêt hantée dans son roman "Anne... la maison aux pignons verts" à cause des ombres et des bruits qui la rendaient effrayante. Anne prenait aussi ce sentier pour voir son amie intime Diana. Avant de se rencontrer, elles communiquaient entre elles-mêmes de façon très unique, du comfort de leurs propres chambres.
