On 6/10/2015 2Wolfes and I floated this stretch in the search of 5 lonely caches. So others to follow have more caches to enjoy I added an additional 8 for now. I am not a big fan of Micro's (especially in the woods), however due to the high water fluctuations you may encounter on this beautiful stretch of river there are very few locations to hide ammo cans although we did hide a couple. Depending on the water level you will probably have to look up. That being said, this hide is more about the journey and sights you will encounter vs. the cache itself. Container is big enough for small trade items (see spoiler pic).
It's up an oak! Time to earn that 5/5!
An oak is a tree or shrub in the genus Quercus of the beech family, Fagaceae. There are approximately 600 extant species of oaks. The common name "oak" may also appear in the names of species in related genera, notably Lithocarpus. The genus is native to the Northern Hemisphere, and includes deciduous and evergreen species extending from cool temperate to tropical latitudes in Asia and the Americas. North America contains the largest number of oak species, with approximately 90 occurring in the United States. Mexico has 160 species, of which 109 are endemic. The second greatest center of oak diversity is China, which contains approximately 100 species.
