This cache is placed at the summit of Brent Mountain near the old fire lookout hut. This is the fourth highest point of the Okanagan Highlands and perhaps the best view of all of them and a very enjoyable hike to the summit also.
4x4 will likely be required to reach the trailhead. The off pavement drive begins on Shatford road off of Apex Mountain road. At the 3 km mark is a fork with Shatford road going uphill to the left and Old road going to the right. Either road can be taken to access the trailhead, but Old road is the one which has signs leading the way and is a smoother drive with the exception of a somewhat rickety looking bridge shortly beyond the fork. Upon reaching the parking lot, the trail begins at the post to your left and not the ATV path straight ahead. The trail is very well marked with orange reflective markers and takes around 3-4 hours round trip for most hikers. Be sure to stick to the main marked trail as there are many side trails branching off. Good luck!
