Birkigt
…erstmals 1328 urkundlich erwähnt, bedeutet Birkenwald und erhebt sich über dem schönen Dissautal.
Birkigt war ein zum Rittergut Nebra gehöriges Vorwerk und später eine bedeutende Ziegelei.
Das Gutsgebäude, erbaut 1754, prägt noch heute das Bild des Ortes.
Derzeit zählt das kleine Örtchen Birkigt gerade mal 27 Einwohner und gehört zur Stadt Bad Bibra.
