Geocache Description:

Animas and Berg Parks form a single city park along the Animas River.  Trails accommodate pedestrians, bicyclists and equestrians and offer year-round  interest for the avid nature lover or the casual walker.

The cache is located in Animas Park along the Willitts Ditch.    The Willitts Ditch was an irrigation ditch that was hand dug before 1900 to provide water for the many fruit orchards along the river, and also provide water to the Farmington Electric power plant near Broadway.  This is a lessor used loop of the park trail system.  This part of the trail system can be accessed from just off of Southside River Road near the South end of the Broadway bridge over the Animas River  or from the West pedestrian bridge that crosses the Animas river.  This is a log only cache, so bring your own pen or pencil and possibly some tweezers.
