If, like me, you enjoy stopping at roadside historic markers while traveling, you've got two reasons to stop at this one!
This marker tells of the discovery of gold in the nearby area. The cache is a small camoed screw-top jar tucked under a few small white rocks into a sagebrush & covered with rocks. (The big rock I had intended to place it under was harboring a largish black snake at the time, so I left him alone and found a different spot to place the cache!)
This is a good spot to stop and stretch the legs. Dogs too, but watch them as you are beside the highway. The sign is interesting and worth reading.
