There are many lovely beaches on the west side of Harris and this may not be the only one where cowrie shells can be found. In a short time, in a small area I found 12. But be warned they are small and not the large spotty ones to be found in warmer climes. Once my eyes got atuned they became easier to spot amongst the many other shells and small stones. I have left 3 of my finds and a ‘First to Find’ badge in the box along with a few other ‘trinkets’, but please leave one of the cowries as an example for those who wish to search for some of their own.
