A Cuckoo from the Schwarzwald Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

hutzy: Astonishing that the cache has not been scraped into pieces by this extensive clear-cutting.
However, the location is gone. GoForBroke retrieved the remainder of the box and content. Thank you so much for this great support!
This has come to an end for here and now. But perhaps the Cuckoo will get a second life, or a new one will emerge some day in the future [;)]

Thanks for the great logs and positive feedback - enjoyed it as much as the geocachers themselves hopefully!

Geocache Description:

Simple traditional cache with some Southwest German Background....

Dear Geocachers in this region and all over the world,
with this Cache here in the vicinity of the "First Stash" as globally the very origin of Geocaching, I would like to pay tribute to all colleagues devoted to advancing this greatest hobby of the world, especially in this region considered to be the Cradle of Geocaching !!!

During my US-visit in June 2015, coming over from Germany, I took the chance to bring a special souvenir from the Black Forest region with me. I was quite surprised that cuckoos are not living in the Americas, so I thought it should be a good idea to make one available to the North American Cacher community. Treat him carefully, it is the only one of his kind ....more information is given in the instruction sheet in the container. Following this you might soon hear his voice sounding through Oregon woods - please refer to the hint for correct battery settings! And the ENJOY !!! !

Hopefully there is some kind of special spirit within this "Black Forest Box" inspiring all finders. And you may find something "additional" in the logbook which might be of use beyond this single cache....

Best regards from Southwest Germany, Northern Black Forest region (a little quite similar to the scenery in Oregon
Oliver
