St Margaret's Episcopal Church is located towards the north-east end of the village of Aberlour, close to the grounds of nearby Aberlour House. The church is located at the top end of a long, tree-lined driveway, suggesting the church was planned with landscaping to give it a grand approach and to associate it with Aberlour House. There is a fairly small graveyard to the south of the church.
St Margaret's Church, Aberlour, was designed and built in 1875 by the Scots architect Alexander Ross to provide a chapel for the children and staff of the Aberlour Orphanage.
The Orphanage was closed in 1967 and its buildings demolished. Only the clock tower and the church are left to remind thousands of mitherless bairn of their childhood on Speyside.
