Geocache Description:

Magnetic nano just large enough for log - please bring your own pen/pencil.

This cache is in the northern end of Monk Stray.  Unlike the rest of Monk Stray which is regularly mown short grass, this field is usually left to grow as a meadow with plenty of wild flowers and long grass, ideal for watching butterflies and other small creatures at the right times of year.  In June, it's a mass of yellow buttercups and looks lovely in the sunshine.  Every now and then it's mown for hay though, so not ideal for hay fever sufferers when this is going on!  The field is popular with dog walkers & joggers, and there's a dog waste bin at waypoint 4 if you bring your geopooch for a visit too.

You're looking for a tiny silver magnetic nano, only big enough for the log, so please bring a pen/pencil.  I had to move it from its original location several times as it was repeatedly muggled, so it's now hidden in a corner of the field where I hope you can find it discreetly.  Please replace in exactly the same place as found so it's hard to spot for the average muggle!

Parking is best OFF Malton Road, although there is a small layby near the Bramble Cottage road entrance if you're really desperate to get as close as possible.  Better to park in one of the side streets off Straylands Grove or Woodlands Grove and approach from the entrances at waypoints 1 (2) or 3.  Better still, go by bike!

Part of the field was dug up in 2014 to install some new undreground sewer pipes.  It's just about back to normal now, with only a little reminder here and there of what's under your feet!  It's all sealed in and surprisingly perhaps, doesn't smell all the time.  Watch out for dog walking muggles, they can approach silently and can surprise you!  :-)

This is actually my second cache, so it's a Number 2, appropriately enough! Happy hunting!
