Archie Allagan, who tries to make his living by logging in the plantation, has not collected enough wood during the day so is attempting some night logging. Can you follow his trail and discover whether he was successful?
This is not a cache for those of a nervous disposition or those afraid of the dark. As with many night caches, it involves following a trail of reflective markers which would be very difficult to spot in daylight. You will need a bright torch and stout footwear. There are fallen trees, overhanging branches and the terrain is uneven. If you must go alone, tell someone where you are going and that you should be back within an hour or so plus your journey time. We don't recommend taking young children but older kids should enjoy the adventure.
Park at the suggested area and make your way to the starting point, which is the co-ordinates on the cache page. You will find yourself next to post no. 2. Shine your torch a little to the left of the main path in a south easterly direction. If you can see a reflective marker you're on your way. Once at each of the markers you will see that they are in the shape of an arrow which will point in the direction of the next stage. If the arrow is pointing down you have reached the cache site. We recommend plotting the trail on your device or using a compass in case you wish to retrace your steps. Good luck, you may need it!
We don't think you will meet any bogeymen but you go at your own risk, please take care. There are others, however, who like to play here and set trails so please follow the markers which are reflective only at night.
To exit the forest, return to the listed co-ordinates then to the car parking area.
