Kauno miesto teritorija, esanti vakariniame Senamiesčio pakraštyje, prie Nemuno ir Neries santakos. Yra Santakos parkas, stadionas, stovi Kauno Šv. Jurgio Kankinio bažnyčia. Vyrauja žalieji plotai. Apie nemuną: Nemunas prasideda Baltarusijoje, 45 km į pietus nuo Minsko, Uzdzensko rajono Aukštutinio Nemuno (Верх-Нёман) kaimo apylinkėse, pelkėtame Baltarusijos aukštumų pažemėjime, 179 m aukštyje virš jūros lygio. Pradžioje upė teka į pietus, bet susiliejusi su Usa gerokai praplatėja ir pasuka į vakarus. Nemuno aukštupys driekiasi iki santakos su Katra (402 km ruožas). Jame upė teka plačiu slėniu Nemuno aukštupio žemuma, susidariusia paskutiniame tarpledynmetyje. Vagos plotis žemiau Ščiaros žiočių 150–280 m, gylis iki 4 m. Salpa užima beveik visą slėnį, jos plotis 2–4 km. Upė, vingiuodama per salpą, sudaro nemažai senvagių ir meandrų. Vidutinis nuolydis 20 cm/km.[1]
