Geocache Description:

This is a series of caches on things that once existed but only exist in our memories now. This cache is placed in the Elizabethtown Nature Park five feet off a trail. Park at the North Freeman Lake parking area and hike around via the cool tunnel to this cache

This was the original locating I wanted for this cache some years ago, it is now a lot easier to get to then the old cache.

Upper Lake Road once was a two-lane road connecting US 31W and Pear Orchard Road. At the time it was built it was literally a road going nowhere. It started out at what was then Tinsley Oldsmobile (now Jones Chevrolet and CVS Pharmacy) and ended on a road that was seldom used. The one feature that made the road interesting was that it had a view of Freeman Lake and it crossed the lake at its northern end. In the early eighties it was connected to Ring Road on its eastern end and was renamed Ring Road East. Later the road was extended beyond US 31W. This road will be a part of Elizabethtown’s history for some time. I remember when the road ended at Pair Orchard Road, Do You Remember?
