Since moving to Cochrane in March of 2013, I have spent many hours walking and bicycling the pathways all over town. I have enjoyed finding so many caches along the pathway system and I am trying to contribute something back to the local caching community.

Riverfront Park officially opened on August 29, 2015, although Geocachers have been enjoying this natural space for much longer than that. The park was originally announced in 2012 as part of the Open Spaces Master Plan but required extensive redesign work after the area was hit hard by the floods of 2013. The opening ceremonies featured the Cochrane Pipe Band, a Native Elder blessing, First Nations dancers, and speeches from Cochrane's mayor, MLA, and MP.

TO FIND THE CACHE
Start at the posted coordinates and start counting the letters in the title of the sign. Only increment your count if you are encountering that letter for the first time. Subtract two from your answer and call the result "A". To get to your next destination, project a waypoint (16.463*A) meters at a bearing of (8.1*A) degrees True.
EXAMPLE: If the title was "DanOCan is a Cacher", you would count as follows: D=1, A=2, N=3, O=4, C=5, A=skip, N=skip, I=6, S=7, A=skip, C=skip, A=skip, C=skip, H=8, E=9, R=10.
Stage Two: If you projected your waypoint correctly, you should be standing near another sign. The sign should have two different years listed on it. Subtract the oldest year from the most recent year. Call your result "B". Stage Three can be found here: N51 A.(B+1)(B/4)(B/2) W114 28.(B-1)(B-1)(B/4)
Stage Three: You're almost there! You should once again be near another sign. Answer this question: How many different examples of things eaten by coyotes are listed? Call your answer "C". Your fourth (and final!) stage can be found by using the same north coordinate as you calculated to get to Stage 3 and this for your west coordinate: W114 28.(A-1)(C-4)(C+1) Don't try and bushwhack unless you want to get wet!
The cache you seek is former mayonnaise jar hidden a short distance off the pathway. For those caching with canines, be aware this entire section of the pathway system is "on leash".
The cache contains only a logbook and pen. There is room for trackables should you wish to leave any. Please make sure the container is well-hidden to keep it safe. Thanks!
