The club was founded in 1911 by Mr T.Inggs and was situated in Magennis Park.By 1913 there were 28 members with Dr G.Macpherson as the first President of the club.Within 2 years the ck=lub had built 2 greens,the "Founders" green and the new "Chase"green which were opened by the then mayor Mr F.Tomlinson.For some reason unknown in 1953 the President,Mr J.Reid and members approach the municipality to re-site the club to Scheepers square,where it is still until today
